INSTRUCTIONS
PROJECT 1B
Week 1 (14/04/20)
We were required to make a scrapbook that includes 20 logos that we collect and analyze each week.
Week 2 - Week 6 (21/04/20 - 19/05/20)
Here are the compiled 100 logos:
Throughout the collection of the logos, I've collected mostly food brands, mainly dessert brands as it relates to my brand which is a tasting & testing dessert brand. I learned about the history of the brand, its brand identity, and its values, how the logo reflects their identity. It is good to say that most brand logos have done a good job of creating their logo, especially when it comes to rebranding. Most brands did a great effort in improving the look of their brand, making it more modernized yet the original characteristics are still maintained.
As I have also looked into a lot of local brands, I am happy that most of their logos are well thought of and had meaning to them. On the other hand, those international brands have a more iconic identity to their logos, it is easily recognized and unique, which the local brands can definitely learn from. Meanwhile, Japanese related brands are also true to their identity. Most brands focus on their minimalistic appeal, thus their logo would be very clean and minimal, most logos use a straight-line approach to their logos, making it modern, minimal, and clean.
FEEDBACK
Specific Feedback: Presentation was good and it was a good direction that most of my brands selected are local brands.
Week 3
Specific Feedback: My logo presentation has a very thorough brand study and background, good effort in studying all the decisions made in the logo. However, I need to improve on my slides, where I should summarize my point forms to be more organized.
Week 4
Specific Feedback: It was good that my presentation includes information on why the logo has evolved, how it changed, and aligns with the concept of the brand.
Week 5
Week 4
Specific Feedback: It was good that my presentation includes information on why the logo has evolved, how it changed, and aligns with the concept of the brand.
Week 5
Individual Feedback: It was a good effort that I've included the historical origin of the brand. Maybe next week I can look into the brands related to my brand, or other food-related and dessert brands.
Week 6
Week 6
Individual Feedback: It was good that I have looked into brands similar to my own brand.
OBSERVATION
Working on this project helps me to identify patterns, similar traits of the same line of businesses in their logos. For instance, Japanese inspired brands or fusions related to Japan, logos are often very minimalistic, playing with straight lines only.

REFLECTION
EXPERIENCE
Overall, this project had been really tiring, to come up with 20 logos at the same time while juggling the other project wasn't easy. To also analyze each of them was really time-consuming. Nevertheless, I was able to learn a lot. I had a better understanding of the reasoning behind the decision making process. It ultimately falls under the identity of the brand, what is it, who is it for, how does the brand wants to portray itself. OBSERVATION
FINDINGS
I found that I've been more aware of the logos around me as I started paying attention to logos I encounter either at home, social media, and more. I am also able to identify a good brand with a strong background and values, what is their unique selling point and how they stand out from the rest.
Coming across this article while I was brainstorming and thinking about how to design my own brand logo. This article taught me the different types of logos, what type will suit what type of business, and also what to avoid.
